The Virus

The Virus is the official name of Sirius 197 and XM202, Opie and Anthony's channel on Sirius XM Satellite Radio. It was officially renamed The Virus in November, 2006; prior to that, The Virus was the unofficial name of the channel, which at the time was known as High Voltage. The name comes from the fact that someone who is a fan of Opie and Anthony has "caught the virus."
The Virus is also the name of a character E-Rock played during Jocktober in October, 2009. On the October 7th 2009 show, in E-Rock's absence, Mars sat in as The Virus.
The background music for the Virus character is "Baby Elephant Walk".
On January 11th, 2010, a new intern calling himself "The Infection" rose to the challenge of defeating The Virus in a punchline competition.
