Fun Facts
- Goes by the name of Martini Steve.
- Often speaks with perfect diction. O&A have goofed on his pronunciation of the following words:
- August
- Clothes
- Coffee
- Pizza
- Known for wearing clothing with flames on them and being a sweetfaced, cozy bear.
- His sexuality is in question. For example, he seems to hire "twink-like" interns. He also allowed gay banner ads to appear on the instant feedback page. On June 1, 2009, he wore gay-looking Capri shorts bought by his "girlfriend" (now wife/beard).
- Used to have a band named Foundry; at the time, he called himself Steven Carr and was so fat he got his wardrobe from Lane Bryant. Foundry had a massive hit with a song called "Pendulum".
- Once was a bouncer but now runs the website FoundryMusic.com, which has been described as an unnavigable mess, with his giant FoundryMusic watermark all over everything on the site. Also assists in running the boards off mike.
- Has wrestled former UFC Champ Tito Ortiz and lost in a record 11 seconds.
- Had gastric bypass surgery and as a result has a tiny, walnut stomach.
- Owns a hybrid car.
- He hates all listeners.
- Is an atrocious actor, as evidenced in certain on-air promos.
- Goofed on for his occasional incompetence (such as the "Corey Delaney" interview).
- Is the voice of Epschtine in the Inventor and Epschtine bits.
- His birthday is February 22.
- The Jim Norton character Steve from Yellowstone is based on him.
- After finding out he had somewhere in the range of 50+ sick days, recently decided to take off of work every Monday, 'for the foreseeable future', resulting in the "Steve C's Day Off" sweeper.
Steve Audio Clips
O&A play several soundbites of Steve, including:
- "GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
- "Nonononononononono!"
- "What are you doing in my house?"
- "What's my problem? You're in MY fucking house!"
- "No... nothing's wrong... just stay in the living room. I'll handle it."
- "Get the fuck out. NOW!"
- "That... that's terrible. I'm sorry."
- "Why not?"
- "How'd your parents die?" (the above two are often played together to highlight Steve's acting "range")
- "Razzle dazzle!"
- "COCK meat! Nothing but COCK meat!"
- "Shut up for two minutes!"
- "And THAT'S how you executive produce."
- "I ruin things."
- "... Your clothes..."
O&A also play the Jetsons' car sound effect for Steve's hybrid car, as well as a clip of Steve singing to himself, which was remixed by Dru Boogie into a version of "Don't Worry, Be Happy". Steve also makes odd noises while getting his voice ready for promos (referred to as the Sounds of Steve). These sounds were captured on mike, and the listeners and staff put them into various songs, including:
- "Sweet Child O' Mine" - Guns N' Roses
- "Jamie's Cryin'" - Van Halen
- "The Little Boy Who Cried Fire" - Steve Sahlein
- "Livin' on a Prayer" - Bon Jovi
- "One" - Metallica
- "Tears Are Falling" - KISS
Firing
According to Opie's Twitter page on September 6th, 2010:
"Steve C wasn't fired by Sirius. His position was eliminated! That's right folks they eliminated the Producer position of our show!"
