Sirius
From OAPedia.com
Sirius Satellite Radio was XM's only satellite radio competitor. It was also the home of Howard Stern, Opie and Anthony's main rival in the shock jock radio genre. Sirius had often been the target of ridicule by Opie and Anthony over the massive amount of money they paid Stern to come to Sirius ($500 million), as well as the massive size of their radio receivers and their poor programming choices. They usually referred to Sirius as the "Little doggy company", as their logo was of a dog with a star for an eye.
Sirius and XM eventually merged into a single company named Sirius XM. During the merger talks, there was much speculation by Opie and Anthony and the Pests that if the merger went through, O&A would be through on XM, since Mel Karmazin (Sirius' CEO) and Howard Stern are not fans of O&A, and Howard would not want to have to compete with O&A on the same platform. It is believed that the merger was a primary reason for XM's suspension of O&A during the Homeless Charlie controversy.
Fortunately, O&A were able to extend their contract, and as of September 30, 2008, The Virus (O&A's and Ron and Fez's channel on XM) was available on Sirius, on channel Sirius 197.
