Sharon Osbourne is the wife of Ozzy Osbourne and occasionally appears as a guest on The Opie and Anthony Show. During an appearance on November 3, 2009, she was asked about Susan Boyle, the unattractive contestant on Britain's Got Talent whose singing made her an international star. Osbourne made some jokes about Boyle's appearance, at one point saying she got hit with an ugly stick. Her comments caused a controversy, with entertainment shows like Access Hollywood picking up on them and editorializing that her remarks were insulting. O&A pointed out the hypocrisy of shows like that, since they frequently show celebrities in a bad light themselves. Eventually, Sharon apologized for the comments.
