- 1989 - 1991 - Opie does radio on 103.3FM WUFX, Buffalo.
- 1992 - 1995 - Opie hosts The Opie Show on 102.3FM WBAB, Long Island.
- August, 1994 - Anthony enters the Rotgut song "Gonna Electric Shock O.J." into the WBAB song parody contest. The song was a hit on Opie's show, and Rotgut was invited to play live numerous times. Thus began Anthony's friendship with Opie.
- September 14, 1994 - Anthony first appears on The Opie Show along with Brother Joe. As O&A's friendship grew, discussions of a possible duo show began to take shape.
- December, 1994 - Anthony appears on The Howard Stern Show as a contestant in the "Jack Off" Jackie Martling impression contest (which he nailed).
- February, 1995 - Discovered by Ron Valeri, Program Director for WAAF Boston, Opie and Anthony got their first break. They packed up and moved to Boston to begin their careers.

- May, 1995 - Whip'em Out Wednesday (WOW), the greatest radio promotion of all time, is born.
- May, 1995 - June, 1997 - WOW gains huge popularity, but also gains much negative fury from women's rights and gay rights groups.
- June, 1997 - Dave Dickless and Bruce Mittman decide to pull the plug on the WOW promotion under pressure from rights groups and the State Police. Opie and Anthony have other ideas.
- April 1, 1998 - Opie and Anthony's April Fools Day Prank on Mayor Menino of Boston. For their annual April Fools prank, Opie called a severely hung over Anthony bright and early with the idea "Let's tell all of Boston that Mayor Menino died in a fiery car crash!". Anthony agreed. The fallout from this prank was far greater than anyone had anticipated. It gained citywide attention and news coverage, and was made worse by the fact that Mayor Menino could not be reached at the time because he was in the air on his way back from Florida.
- April 2, 1998 - Opie and Anthony's last live show on WAAF. They were suspended without pay that day. Despite ridiculous attempts by Dave Dickless to patch things up with such suggestions as a public pieing, and donating pies to terminally ill children, the damage had been done.
- April 9, 1998 - Opie and Anthony are fired.
- June, 1998 - The bbboys are signed to legendary New York rock station 102.7 WNEW. Over the next year, they were locked in battle with the other DJs, due to their interjection of humor between songs. "Shut up and play the music" was heard all too often.
- June 26, 1998 - Opie and Anthony's first show on WNEW.
- September, 1999 - WNEW drops the Rock format altogether, and focuses soley on "Hot Talk". Opie and Anthony get their afternoon-drive talk radio slot, and O&A version 2.0 begins.
- September 13, 1999 - WNEW flips to "FM Talk @ 102.7".
- 2000 - As the show gains rampant popularity, more and more comedians appear on and become friends of the show. O&A hit Number 1 in the NY market afternoon drive slot.
- November 30, 2000 - The Voyeur Bus makes headlines, as Mayor Rudy Giuliani calls for the arrest of all those aboard the glass-walled bus, including comedians Jim Norton and Lewis Black.
- May, 2001 - Opie and Anthony's contract is up for renewal, but no one at Infinity Broadcasting is sure how to proceed. On one hand, there is major controversy surrounding some of the radio bits and promotions, like Sex for Sam, the 55 gallon drum challenge, and the Homeless Shopping Spree, but on the other hand, the outstanding ratings and the duo's confidence in their show suggested that the next logical step would have to be syndication.
- June 11, 2001 - After taking a 2 week break while their contract was in limbo, Opie and Anthony returned to the airwaves, now syndicated to 94.1 WYSP in Philadelphia. Over the next 6 months, syndication was expanded to 18 additional markets, including WJFK in Washington, DC, and WBCN in Boston.

- August 16, 2002 - Opie and Anthony go on live, alas for the last time. Neither of the bbboys were allowed to speak of the incident, referring to it only as the Peanut Butter and Jelly incident. The first thing broadcast over the air that day was Opie uttering the words "We're F-'ed". The last words were "Your Mom's Box".
- August 22, 2002 - Infinity Broadcasting made the announcement that The Opie and Anthony Show had been cancelled. However, they had not been fired. Infinity continued to pay out the remaining two years of their contract. Unfortunately, due to a "No Compete" clause in the contract, O&A were not allowed to work elsewhere until the contract expired.
- 2002 - 2004 - Rumors began swirling as to what O&A's next move would be.
