Mayor Tom Menino is the longtime mayor of Boston, MA. Menino has a large, cow-like tongue and screws up nearly everything he says; this has earned him the nickname "Mumbles Menino". Opie and Anthony pulled an April Fool's Day Prank in 1998 by saying Mayor Menino was killed in a fiery car crash in Florida. This led to their firing from WAAF. As it turns out the prank was done purposefully (after a secret and perhaps illegal meeting with Infinity Broadcasting) so they could get fired and then be hired for afternoon drive at WNEW.
