Larry King

Larry King is a talk show host who is often goofed on by Opie and Anthony for his seeming incompetence as an interviewer and his general ignorance of modern times. For example, he once introduced Mötley Crüe as "the Mötley Crüe", and also asked interviewee Roseanne Barr if the internet was "viable" as a political medium and admitted to having never searched on the internet. He is known for asking softball questions to his interview subjects, such as when he interviewed John Mark Karr and barely confronted him about admitting to murdering Jon Benét Ramsey, and asking ridiculous questions, such as when he asked a professional skateboarder how important the board is. When interviewing a woman who was raped by kidnapper Phillip Garrido, King was more interested in what happened to the food left in the woman's car. Anthony's impression of him often includes mentions of Garlique and Welch's Grape Juice, products that King endorses.

Bits

  • February 5, 2008 (FM portion) - King interviewed Snoop Dogg and attempted to rap the "Theme from New York, New York" with him, shouting "Come on... COME ON!" to get Snoop Dogg to go along with him and hitting his desk with his hands to simulate "rapping".[1]
  • September, 2009 - O&A fans began regularly calling into the show imitating King and other celebrities.
  • January 8, 2010 - O&A play audio of King saying that Roman Polanski brutally murdered his wife Sharon Tate (she was actually murdered by Charles Manson's followers, and Polanski was responsible for raping a young girl).[2]
  • February 4, 2010 - O&A play audio of King screwing up the famous line from A Few Good Men. This leads to several "Larry Kings" calling in with other screwed-up movie lines.[3]
