Infinity Broadcasting was the 2nd largest radio company in the country, with #1 being Clear Channel Communications (and even then, Clear Channel still owned over 7 times what Infinity owned). Infinity was owned by Viacom, but had been spun off into new company CBS Corp. Infinity's Westwood One syndication company was responsible for shows such as Don and Mike, Tom Leykis, Howard Stern, and for a year, Opie and Anthony. Opie and Anthony were on the air at Infinity's WNEW-FM in New York from 1998-2002, and then til 2004 off the air while still being paid. The company was run by Joel Hollander, who was still a fan of O&A despite their exit from the company.

Infinity eventually renamed itself CBS Radio, and brought O&A back on the air in April, 2006.
