Golden ticket
From OAPedia.com
Golden Ticket is the Willy-Wonka-esque term Opie and Anthony gave for an invitation for a radio show to join XM Satellite Radio. In 2005, they claimed there would be a total of 5 Golden Tickets given out to radio shows they felt were worthy to be saved from the wasteland of commercial radio.
The first Golden Ticket was given (to the surprise of absolutely no-one) to their old friends Ron and Fez, who started their show on XM202 on September 12, 2005.
O&A had been fishing around for other shows to receive the remaining 4 tickets. One possible candidate was Cowhead and Brent, who called O&A live on the air from their own show in Tampa to audition for them. Other shows that had been mentioned were BJ Shea from Seattle, Scott Ferrall (another friend of the show from the WNEW days, who has since joined Sirius and turned on O&A), Brother Wease, and possibly an hour show dedicated to the creative genius of the O&A listeners.
Since then, the Golden Ticket idea was discontinued, although there has been some programming added to XM202, such as The Saturday Night Virus and the Razzle Dazzle Variety Hour.
