Frank the Frowner
From OAPedia.com
Frank the Frowner is an impression done by lil' Jimmy Norton. It involves him distorting his face into an over-exaggerated frown and talking through it.

Origin of Frank
During the final hour of the June 27, 2006 episode of The Opie and Anthony Show, Opie, Anthony, and Jimmy were discussing The Daily Dump Report. The majority of the content on the dumpsheet was within FCC guidelines, yet still dumped out of during the Free FM portion of the show. Among these dumps was the phrase "I hope a dog teabags you" (Jim Norton as Steve from Yellowstone), which was directed at Fran from Little Shelter as well as "Hemorrhoid in his ass" (In-studio guests, The Dudesons) and "Take a poo that glows in the dark" (The Dudesons, again).
This incited a conversation between Opie and Anthony on empowering words, during which Opie says "they're just words" and Jimmy responds in a slurry, stroke-victimish voice, "That's a good point." The exchange between Opie and Anthony dissolves as Opie says laughing, "Can we do a show called 'New Character Day'?" and Anthony and Jimmy proceed to do funny voices, the third of which is Frank the Frowner.

The "Life" of Frank
When Frank the Frowner is kind enough to interject on The Opie & Anthony Show, he usually reveals something about his past. Here is a list of what we know so far:
- Claims to have enjoyed smoking pot with Anthony Cumia during his high school years, however, Anthony denies knowing Frank during that time of his life. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-28-2006 - XM show)
- He is cousins with Frank the Angry Typing Guy. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-28-2006 - XM show)
- As a child, when Frank visited Disney World, Mickey Mouse and Goofy would ask him "why are you so sad little boy?" During this sad moment, Frank was forced to explain that he was not sad, but that his face simply did not know how to react to anything, but sadness. After this, Goofy attempted to tell Frank that it takes more muscles to frown than smile, but Frank cut him off, shouting "I know, I know - I've heard that before!" (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-28-2006 - XM show)
- Frank's mother used to tell him "you're face is gonna stick like that." After Frank would reply "I know ma, I know," his mother would beat him across his groin with a chord. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-29-2006 - FreeFM show)
- One time a man approached Frank and said, "he pal, what's with the scowl?" to which Frank replied, "That really hurt's my feelings, mister, because I'm happy on the inside." After this exchange, both Frank and the man proceeded to badmouth the Jews together. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-29-2006 - FreeFM show)
- At times, Frank's mother was abusive - an example of this is when she smacked young Frank in the face with a pair of shoes he had given her as a gift because his frown was 'bumming her out.' (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-29-2006 - FreeFM show)
- According to Frank, his mother fell down the stairs when she was pregnant with him. The "accident" occured when Frank's father was drunk and tried "the Ol' Whoopsadaisy" on her. Frank is unsure if the fall was the cause of his disfigurement. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-29-2006 - FreeFM show)
- Embellishment: According to Tom Brokaw, when Frank the Frowner was in utero, his mother fell down the stairs - causing Frank's umbilical cord to wrap around his mouth (much like a horse bridle), pulling his mouth downward for six months until his birth. Thus giving Frank his permanent frown. (The Opie & Anthony Show - 06-29-2006 - FreeFM show)
- His father is an unemployed didgeridoo craftsman, who was "drummed out" of The Didgeridoo Union for "using balsa wood" and inserting said instrument "into his buttocks" (The Opie & Anthony Show - 10-04-2006 - XM show)

But He's Smiling on the Inside
Frank is faced with the same harsh scrutiny that most handicapped people undergo when dealing with strangers: he is forced to talk about his illness so that people will be able to look beyond that and see him as a person. The following is what Frank has mentioned about his illness.
- Contradiction: He does not have enough muscles in his face to smile, though he claims that it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile (The Opie & Anthony Show - June 27, 2006 - XM portion)
- Theory #1 - Frank may have been born without the proper muscles to perform the act of smiling.
- Theory #2 - Frank may have little or no muscles in his mouth area and therefore, due to gravity, is always frowning. Though this theory is contradicted by the use of what Frank calls his "head pillow", which he does a handstand on during moments of exaltation, elation, and joy.
- Has trouble whispering due to his facial structure. (The Opie & Anthony Show - June 28, 2006 - XM show)

- Despite his condition, Frank remains in high spirits; referring to himself as 'a handsome boy that looks sad all the time.' (The Opie & Anthony Show - June 29, 2006 - XM show)
- When he whispers, his eyes open wider. When he speaks at a normal or loud volume, his eyes close up. (The Opie & Anthony Show - June 30, 2006 - FreeFM show)
