Lyle Delmar "Chip" Chipperson is a Jim Norton character. His obnxious comments can often be heard on the show, which cause much disgust for both Opie and Anthony. Club Soda Kenny also does a Chip impression; the duo of Jimmy and Kenny are known as "Chip and Dip".
On April 29, 2010 Colin Quinn discussed Chip's family history and persona. He noted that Chip "has clammy hands and lives with his mother." Further, "Chip's dad is dead and Chip doesn't know this - he believes he is out on a sales trip." Colin states that Chip has been looking forward to his father's return since he was seven years of age.
Mr. Quinn spoke of Chip in a former life or an alternate timeline, hypothesizing that he could have been part of the German Nazi's to which Chip reminded him he "had glasses and could see all the stuff." In an impersonation of Chip Chipperson, Anthony Cumia illustrated that "there's two jews in that attic; or somethin'."
Chip's mother's name is Dolores (2/3/10). Chip's middle name Delmar is "coincidentally" the same name of an acquaintance of Dolores' (not her husband).
Chip is the leader of two bands. One called "Burning Embers" and the other being "SFP" better known as "Sick Fucking Puppies". The SFP's are a thrash metal band (11/7/2011).
