Bill's Dead

Bill's Dead is a classic Opie and Anthony bit where an old woman called the show by mistake and asked for someone named Bill. Opie goofed on her by saying Bill was killed in a car accident. Anthony does a great impression of the woman by imitating many of her lines from the call during other bits. Examples:

• "Pat."
• "You're kiddin'!"
• "Who is is this?"
• "How did it happen?"
• "I was just talking to him."
• "Aw, no."
• "Where?"

Years later, O&A recreated the phone call in Spanish in response to Mayor Bloomberg's recording campaign commercials in Spanish to appeal to Spanish-speaking voters.

Old woman: Hi!

Opie: Hi.

Old woman: Bill?

Opie: Who's this?

Old woman: Pat.

Opie: Hi Pat, how are ya?

Old woman: This is the wrong Bill?

Opie: Well I have some bad news.

Old woman: What?

Opie: Bill...ugh...Bill died today.

Old woman: Yer kiddin'...oh my gud!!!

Opie: Yeah...tragic.

Old woman: Who's this?

Opie: He was in a car accident today.

Old woman: Uh no....who is is this? [sic]

Opie: John.

Old woman: John?

Opie: Yeah.

Old woman: Oh boy.... oh my gud..... I don't believe it.

Opie: Yeah.

Old woman: [weakly] I was just talking to him...

Opie: I know.

Old woman: When did it happen?

Opie: This afternoon.

Old woman: Where?

Opie: Highway.

Old woman: Oh god love him.

Opie: Big....big....[breaking up]....big pileup.

Old woman: Be sure and give the kids my condolences.

Opie: OK.... well, i gotta go.

Old woman: Alright John thanks.

Opie: Bye
